Email & Anti-Spam Policy

How we build a mailing list, what we send, how to leave, and our commitment never to buy, rent or scrape an address.

In plain English

  • Opt-in only. We have never bought, rented or scraped an email address and never will.
  • One click to unsubscribe, honoured immediately, from every marketing email.
  • Two emails a month at most, and usually one.
  • We delete addresses that have not engaged in three years, because a list nobody reads is a liability.

A summary, and a reading aid only. The numbered sections below are the operative terms, and where the two differ the sections are what apply.

#1. How an address gets onto our list

Only by you putting it there:

  • The subscribe form on this site, or the unticked box at checkout.
  • A card filled in at the showroom.
  • You emailing us and asking to be added.

Never from a purchased or rented list, a scraped website, a directory, a shared industry list, a business card dropped in a bowl, or a conference attendee list. Placing an order does not subscribe you. Enquiring does not subscribe you. Buying a sofa does not subscribe you.

We record what you were shown when you subscribed, the date, and the source. That record is what proves consent was real, and it is the first thing a regulator asks for.

#2. What we send, and how often

TypeFrequencyConsent
Order, delivery and after-sales emailsAs neededNone required — transactional
Invoices and receiptsPer orderNone required
New arrivals and showroom newsMonthly at mostOpt-in
Journal digestMonthly at mostOpt-in, separately
Sale or event noticeTwo or three times a yearOpt-in
Anything elseWe ask firstFresh opt-in

Two marketing emails a month is the ceiling. In practice it is closer to one. Subscribing to the journal digest does not subscribe you to offers, and unsubscribing from one leaves the other alone.

#3. What every marketing email will have

  • A truthful "From" line naming us, and a real reply-to address that a person reads.
  • A subject line that describes the contents. No fake "Re:", no fabricated urgency, no invented order number.
  • Our full postal address — E-100/14, Lower Ground, Main Boulevard, DHA, Lahore, Pakistan — as CAN-SPAM requires and as anyone deciding whether to trust an email deserves.
  • A one-click unsubscribe link in the footer of every marketing message, plus the List-Unsubscribe header so your mail client's own button works.
  • A line saying why you are receiving it and when you subscribed.
  • No tracking pixel that survives an unsubscribe, and no open tracking at all if you have asked us not to.

#4. Leaving

Click unsubscribe. It works on the first click — no login, no preference centre you must navigate, no "select a reason" — and takes effect immediately rather than in the ten business days some policies reserve. Or reply "unsubscribe" to any email, or write to privacy@vevarte.com, or tell us in the showroom.

We keep your address on a suppression list afterwards. That sounds contradictory and is not: the suppression list exists so that you are not re-added by a later import, and it holds the address and nothing else. Ask for complete erasure and we will do that instead, with the caveat that we then have no way to prevent a future re-subscription being honoured.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop transactional email about an order you have placed. Those are not marketing and you would not thank us for suppressing an invoice.

#5. List hygiene

  • Addresses with no opens or clicks for 36 months are deleted, not re-permissioned with a "we miss you" campaign.
  • Hard bounces are removed at once; repeated soft bounces after thirty days.
  • A spam complaint removes the address immediately and permanently, and we do not contact the person to ask why.
  • We do not send to role addresses — info@, admin@, sales@ — for marketing.
  • SPF, DKIM and DMARC are configured on our domain, which protects you from someone forging mail in our name as much as it protects our deliverability.

#6. The rules we are following

We comply with the US CAN-SPAM Act, Canada's CASL, the GDPR and the UK's PECR for recipients in those jurisdictions, and we apply the strictest of them to everyone rather than segmenting our ethics by country. Under the GDPR our basis for marketing email is consent, and Article 21(2) gives an absolute right to object which we honour on receipt.

Pakistan has no equivalent statute, and the draft Personal Data Protection Bill is not yet enacted. That is a reason to publish this policy, not a reason to skip it.

#7. Reporting abuse, and forged mail

Received something from us you did not ask for? Send it to privacy@vevarte.com with full headers and we will find out how the address got there, tell you honestly, and remove it. If it is our mistake we will say so.

Mail forged to look as though it came from vevarte.com should go to security@vevarte.com. We publish DMARC records to make that harder, and we investigate every report — phishing that impersonates a furniture retailer is usually aiming at a customer's bank transfer, and we would like to warn people quickly.
