#1. Acceptance and eligibility
These terms are between you and VEVARTE, E-100/14, Lower Ground, Main Boulevard, DHA, Lahore, Pakistan. Using vevarte.com — browsing it, searching it, submitting anything through it — means you accept them. They form a binding agreement under the Electronic Transactions Ordinance 2002, which gives electronic records and signatures the same legal standing as paper ones in Pakistan.
You must be at least 13 to use the site and at least 18 to buy. The site is not directed at children and holds nothing intended for them.
We may change these terms. The version and date at the top move when we do, and material changes are announced on the site for thirty days. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised version; your remedy if you do not accept it is to stop using the site, which costs you nothing since there is no account to close.
#2. What this site is
A catalogue of furniture, décor, artwork and office furniture we sell; a journal of articles about furnishing rooms; and a way to order, or to start a conversation about a commission. That is the whole of it.
Six hostnames run on one application — the public shop plus five internal panels for administration, the till, the warehouse, accounts and social publishing. The internal panels are for staff, are not indexed, and attempting to reach them is dealt with in the Acceptable Use Policy.
#3. No accounts, and what that means for you
There is deliberately no customer sign-up. You cannot create an account here and nobody can create one in your name. Checkout is guest-only and an order is traced by its number and the phone number on it.
The consequences are worth knowing. Your cart, wishlist and recently-viewed list live in your own browser's storage and nowhere else — they will not follow you to another device, and clearing your browser data clears them. Nothing of value is lost when that happens.
Anyone who has your order number and the phone number on the order can ask us about it. That is the trade-off for not making you invent another password, and it is why we will not disclose an address or a payment detail on the strength of an order number alone.
#4. What you may and may not do
You may browse, search, read, print pages for your own use, quote short extracts with attribution and a link, and share links freely. We would rather you did all of that.
You may not scrape or systematically extract the catalogue or the journal, republish substantial parts of it, use our photographs or copy commercially, use any of it to train a machine-learning model, or resell access. The Acceptable Use Policy sets out the full list and the consequences.
#5. Accuracy, availability and change
We take real care with descriptions, dimensions, materials and prices, and we correct errors as soon as we find them. Even so, the catalogue may occasionally show a piece that has just sold, a dimension that has been revised, or a price that is out of date. Nothing on this site is an offer capable of acceptance — see section 2 of the Terms of Sale — and an error on a page does not oblige us to sell on those terms.
The site is provided as it is. We do not guarantee it will be available without interruption, free of errors, or free of anything harmful — though we take reasonable measures on all three. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice, and we are not liable to you for doing so.
Planned maintenance, where we can foresee it, is scheduled outside showroom hours.
#6. Links to other sites
We link outward — to museum collections, to standards bodies, to the founder's architecture practice at arka.pk, and to our social channels. Those sites are not under our control. We link because the destination is useful, not as an endorsement of everything on it, and we are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their privacy practices.
Once you follow an outbound link you are on someone else's terms and someone else's privacy policy. Read them if it matters to you.
You may link to any page here without asking, provided the link is fair, does not suggest an association or endorsement that does not exist, and does not frame the page inside your own site. We may ask you to remove a link that does any of those, and you must comply.
#7. Anything you submit
Reviews, photographs, enquiries and messages you send us are covered by the Reviews & User Content Policy, which sets out the licence you give us, what we will not publish, and how to have your content removed.
In short: you keep ownership, you give us permission to display it in connection with the business, and you can withdraw a published review at any time.
#8. Our liability for the site
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — and if any clause here would have that effect, it does not apply.
Subject to that, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the site itself: loss of profit or business, loss of data, or loss arising from reliance on information published here where you have not asked us to confirm it. Liability connected with goods you have actually bought is dealt with in section 8 of the Terms of Sale and is not limited by this section.
We are not liable for loss caused by malware you contract elsewhere, or by a distributed denial-of-service attack on infrastructure we do not own. We do take reasonable measures against both.
#9. Suspension of access
We may restrict or block access from an address or a network that breaches the Acceptable Use Policy. Where a block is automatic and turns out to be wrong, write to legal@vevarte.com and we will lift it — automated defences do occasionally catch the wrong person, and the fix should not require persistence.
#10. Law, jurisdiction and general terms
These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Lahore, Punjab. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules in your own country of residence, nor of your right to go to the District Consumer Court, Lahore.
- If a provision is unenforceable it is severed; everything else stands.
- Not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours on a sale of the business, without reducing your rights.
- Nobody other than you and us may enforce these terms.
- Notices to us: legal@vevarte.com, or the postal address above.
