The Marlowe takes its proportions from 1930s salon seating — a low back, a deep seat, and arms that sweep rather than stop. Channel tufting runs the full width, which is a slower job than it looks and the reason most reproductions skip it. The plinth is solid walnut, mitred at the corners so no end grain shows. It seats three properly, not three at a squeeze.
